All the latest Chelsea transfer news and rumours including Joao Miranda.

At Chelsea training today, Monday, manager Jose Mourinho has been monitoring the attitude and aptitude of his three main summer signings thus far - Francesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis, according to the club's official website.

Fitness coach Chris Jones was present in order to ensure that the squad will be fully prepared for their pre-season tour while the base will be set between Walderana, in Velden and the Klagenfurt Stadium, in Austria.

The sessions today consisted of rigorous stretching, small-sided matches, quick passing and good finishing.

There may be further transfer activity this week, as Express claim that the Stamford Bridge club have made a £20 million bid for Atletico Madrid centre back Joao Miranda. Should the Blues succeed with their offer, then the defender could be the third arrival from the Vicente Calderon in the space of a single summer.

Elsewhere, Mourinho may still be looking to bolster his striking options despite the recruitment of Diego Costa as Chelsea legend Didier Drogba could make a sensational return to West London.

The Evening Standard say that the Ivorian is "on the brink" of a deal.

With Drogba's arrival, Fernando Torres could be ushered back to Atletico Madrid, as Sky Sports quote Atleti midfielder Raul Garcia to have said: "I speak to him a lot and he still feels very strongly about this club.

"His life has been defined by what he experienced here and he is another option just like any other that the media have mentioned. Any great player that can come here will be welcome."

And finally, winger Mohamed Salah will not be returning to Egypt in order to join the military as his "registration for an education programme" has been rescinded by an Egyptian minister. Instead, he travelled to Austria for pre-season training.
