Roberto Soldado comments on Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with Seattle Sounders

Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado is happy with his side’s performance against the Seattle Sounders.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the USA as they continue their preparations for the 2014-15 campaign.

Spurs played their first pre-season game on Saturday, but failed to register a win.

It finished 3-3 between the Premier League outfit and MLS club the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field, but that did not stop Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado from saying that it was a good start to their pre-season campaign.

The Spain international posted the following photo on Instagram along with the message: ‘Buen partido para comenzar!!El siguiente partido mejor. / Good game to start preseason! The next game better’.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side took the lead after just 10 minutes when Lewis Holtby scored. But the hosts went 2-1 up, thanks to goals from Gonzalo Pineda and Osvaldo Alonso.

In what proved to be a very entertaining match, Soldado himself scored from the penalty spot as did his Tottenham teammate Yago Falque, while Tristan Bowen wrapped up the scoring for Sounders.

Soldado came on at the start of the second half and did look impressive during his time on the pitch.

The 29-year-old, who joined Spurs from Valencia for £26 million last summer, had a largely disappointing debut season in the Premier League in 2013-14, and there were suggestions that he could leave White Hart Lane this summer.

However, it appears that the former Real Madrid striker will remain a Tottenham player, and he will be keen to prove himself in the English top flight in the upcoming 2014-15 campaign.
