Liverpool midfielder Kristoffer Peterson is having a pre-season to remember, as he followed up his goal against Brondby with another in Saturday's match against Preston North End.
The 19-year-old Swedish-born player netted after good work from fellow substitute Jordon Ibe, leaving Reds fans wondering if they have unearthed another young talent who can follow in the footsteps of the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jon Flanagan.
In truth Peterson is likely to return to reserve-team action next season given his age. But he has already shown that if he continues to work hard and develop, he could become a long-term goal-scoring threat for Brendan Rodgers' side.
After his latest strike, Peterson took to Twitter to send a message to his followers.
"Great experience to get minutes out there today," he wrote. "Loved it! Fans different class as normal and thank you for all the lovely messages."
Now Liverpool will travel to the USA as they prepare for games against AS Roma, Olympiacos, Manchester City and AC Milan. And expect the young stars to continue to shine.
