All the latest summer transfer news from League One...
Brentford won promotion to the Championship last season, finishing second behind winners Wolverhampton Wanderers. Upon their arrival in the second tier, manager Mark Warburton has snapped up Spanish midfielder Marcos Tebar, Spurs midfielder Alex Pritchard, wingers Moses Odubajo and Alan Judge from Leyton Orient and Notts County respectively, as well as Luton Town striker Andre Gray - and now they're closing in on another striker.
Marcelo Trotta has gone back to Fulham after his loan deal expired, Clayton Donaldson has left Griffin Park for Birmingham City whilst Will Grigg has signed for MK Dons on loan for the season, leaving Warburton short up top. According to Sky Sports, the Bees are set to splash out £750,000 on Rochdale's 22-year-old striker Scott Hogan, who hit 17 goals last season, as they look to stay in the Championship this season.
Coming the other way was Barnsley, as the Tykes dropped out of the Championship last season. Manager Danny Wilson has seen his star goalkeeper Luke Steele and top scorer Chris O'Grady leave the club, whilst Martin Cranie could be set for a move to Blackpool, which would leave a big hole in the centre of defence.
Reports today suggest that they could look to plug that gap with the signing of former Aston Villa and Fulham centre back Zat Knight. The 34-year-old was released by Bolton earlier this summer and is on the lookout for a new club, and Barnsley are monitoring his situation amidst interest from MLS clubs.
Elsewhere, Leyton Orient have snapped up goalkeeper Gary Woods and midfielder Bradley Pritchard since Francesco Becchetti's takeover earlier this month, and former Millwall defender Shane Lowry appears to be on his way to the club too. Despite the left back's imminent arrival, it has been revealed that ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers defender George Elokobi played for the O's in their pre-season friendly against Dartford ahead of a potential move.
