West Bromwich Albion have spent big on their latest summer signing, but what are the numbers behind his career to date?
West Bromwich Albion recently announced the club-record signing of Brown Ideye from Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev.
For a reported fee of around £10million, the Baggies secured their fifth summer signing on a three-year deal (with the option of a fourth).
In the latest in our series on the numbers behind a player’s career to date, we take a closer look at exactly what West Brom have got for their money.
2 – The number of major honours Ideye has won in his career to date. He was part of the Nigeria side that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and last season he held the Ukrainian Cup aloft in his final year at Dynamo.
228 – The number of club appearances the 25-year-old has made so far. He played 107 times for Dynamo, 61 times for Neuchatel Xamax, twice for that club’s second team and 58 times for Sochaux-Montbeliard.
102 – The number of goals Ideye scored during that time. He found the net 45 times for Dynamo, with a record of a goal every 2.3 matches. He also scored 30 times for Xamax’s senior side, five times for their second team and 22 times for Sochaux-Montbeliard.
35 – The number of assists in his club career to date. While he is very much a goal-scorer he is also able to set up teammates, but not as regularly as his new Baggies teammates may like.
3 – The number of times the striker has been sent off in his club career. He has received two straight red cards and has been sent off on one occasion for two bookable offences.
24 – The number of caps Ideye has for Nigeria, during which time he has scored five goals. He also featured five times for Nigria’s under-21s.
