Serie A transfer latest: Lazio close in on United target as Juve eye Chelsea striker

Romelu Lukaku

All the latest summer transfer news from Serie A...

Juventus have now finally confirmed that signature of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, despite the departure of manager Antonio Conte this week. Morata joins Carlos Tevez and compatriot Fernando Llorente in the Juve attack, but new boss Massmiliano Allegri could be looking for more.

Reports in Italy today suggest that Juve are looking to strike a deal with Chelsea that would see Romelu Lukaku move to Turin on a season-long loan deal. The Belgian, 21, has spent the last two season away from Stamford Bridge with West Bromwich Albion and then Everton, and could be set for a third successive loan move if Juve get their way.

Meanwhile, Lazio are looking to strengthen their defence this summer and their top target has been Stefan de Vrij. The Feyenoord star impressed for the Netherlands at the World Cup, prompting reported interested from manager Louis van Gaal, who has now taken the reins at Manchester United.

However, the Red Devils look set to miss out, with reports in Italy suggesting that a deal between Lazio and Feyenoord is moving closer. The Rome-based club have offered €7m for De Vrij, but Feyenoord want €9m - and an agreement could finally be reached on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Milan's pursuit of Juan Iturbe didn't go to plan, with Roma securing the Argentine's signature on Friday. That leaves Pippo Inzaghi left to turn to other targets, and it has appeared for the last few weeks that Torino's Alessio Cerci could be the man targeted to hand them a boost in attack.

However, their hopes could be dented by speculation that Cerci, 26, would prefer a move to San Siro neighbours Inter Milan - even though neither side have come close to meeting Torino's £16m asking price for the Italian international.
