A round up of transfer stories this morning about Arsenal.
Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Southampton over a move for Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Saints midfielder has emerged as a potential defensive midfield signing for the Gunners, after Sami Khedira did a u-turn over possibly leaving Real Madrid.
Schneiderlin would set Arsenal back around £18 million if they managed to do a deal.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says Cesc Fabregas never wanted to return to the Emirates Stadium.
Fabregas was offered to the Gunners before his move to the Blues, with Arsene Wenger passing on the chance to re-sign him.
“I think he really wanted to come to us. As you know Arsenal had an option where they could interfere but I think he was not open to that. He was very much in our direction. It was an easy job for me,” said Mourinho.
Arsenal are expected to announce a deal for goalkeeper David Ospina in the next week.
The Nice shot stopper has been suggested as a good back up option to Wojciech Szczesny.
Valued at around £3 million, the Daily Star expects him to be part of the club’s pre-season plans.
