Just days ago Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was spotted smoking again while on holiday (click here to read more).
The 22-year-old England international was caught smoking on a night out last season and was criticised by his manager Arsene Wenger.
‘I disagree completely with that behaviour’, said the Frenchman at the time. ‘When you are a football player you are an example and you don't do what damages your health’.
However, this time the Gunners’ boss appeared to be a little less severe, claiming that he is not ‘deeply concerned’.
‘I haven’t spoken to him so it is very difficult for me to make any statement’, Wenger told Sky Sports News. ‘I know what you can make of pictures, you know, I have to speak with him and know what happened before I come out publicly.
‘I am not deeply concerned by it, but I just want to know what happened and before I know what happened, I do not want to talk much about it’.
It will be interesting to see what Wenger says after he has spoken to Wilshere. From the photo that emerged, it is clear that he had a cigarette in his mouth, and the England international will find it hard to deny that he was smoking.
Wilshere has been in the news for the wrong reasons of late, having failed to make an impact for the Three Lions at the 2014 World Cup.
The youngster also had an under-par campaign for Arsenal in 2013-14, although he was not helped by the injuries he sustained.
