The Swansea fullback may be about to sign for Tottenham according to several media sources.
If Tottenham do manage to seal a move it will be their first transfer of the summer, and will bring an end to a long running left back hunt, an area of the team many top English clubs have been looking to strengthen.
Within the last couple of days it had appeared Spurs had moved to the front of the queue in the race for the young Welsh star, with reports emanating that the club had had a £10 million bid accepted by Swansea.
And now further news indicates the player may be about to sign on the dotted line at White Hart Lane, with Liverpool's interest appearing to have cooled or yet to meet Swansea's demands.
The Metro are reporting that the Reds' ongoing pursuit of Alberto Moreno has raised doubts for the Welshman that he may find himself on the sidelines for large chunks of the season were he to sign for his old manager Brendan Rodgers.
In comparison, Spurs will make Davies their first choice left sided defender, while the prospect of following in the steps of fellow Welsh star Gareth Bale is also something that is said to appeal to the youngster.
Once Davies does depart the Liberty Stadium, Neil Taylor will be able to reclaim the spot he lost to the 21-year-old after suffering a serious injury in 2012.
