Surely good for team spirit, Chelsea's new signing Cesc Fabregas has been photographed with fellow Spanish Blue Fernando Torres, as well as Barcelona star Xavi, in Sardinia with their families ahead of the new season.
The players were enjoying a delayed holiday after their limited World Cup participation, and seemed to be making the most of it outside Billionaire nightclub on the Mediterranean island, before having to head back to London for pre season training.
Fernando Torres had previously expressed an interest in playing with the former Arsenal captain, and will clearly be delighted at the prospect of playing his club football with a player he has featured alongside for Spain for so many years.
It may even be a valuable means to finally unlock the ex Liverpool striker's goalscoring talent at Stamford Bridge.
Fabregas's arrival at Chelsea takes the number of Spanish players at the club to five, with defender Cesar Azpilicueta, fellow new recruit Diego Costa, and returning Oriol Romeu the others.
Spain suffered a disastrous defence of their World Cup trophy in Brazil, getting hammered 5-1 to the Netherlands in the opening game, the team they beat in the 2010 final, and then exiting the tournament after losing 2-0 to Chile. Both Torres and Fabregas had bit part roles in their country's games, with neither managing to impress in the few minutes they were on the field.
Blues fans will be hoping they perform much better in their club colours come August.
