Liverpool Latest: Reds linked with Isco move, Atletico to swoop for Moreno?

A round up of news stories and transfer rumours about Liverpool from the past 24 hours.

Liverpool are being linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco, who could be sold for Los Blancos to fit James Rodriguez into their starting line-up. Isco has struggled to make an impact on the Real first team following his big money move from Malaga.

TalkSPORT has reported that Atletico Madrid will try and sign Liverpool target Alberto Moreno from Sevilla. The Reds have struggled to work out a deal for Moreno and Atletico are hunting for a new left sided defender after Filipe Luis’ move to Chelsea was confirmed.

The Metro claims Liverpool are leading the race to sign Manchester City defender Micah Richards. Richards is able to play on the right hand side of central defence or at right-back and has struggled to make an impact under Manuel Pellegrini due to persistent injury problems.

Queens Park Rangers forward Loic Remy is thought to be desperate to leave the London based club for Champions League football. QPR boss Harry Redknapp has revealed he feels the Frenchman wants to leave and Liverpool are one of the teams linked with a move for him.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina has said he’s happy to be heading back to Liverpool because he’s not been mistreated at Anfield.

“I return happy because the people have treated me very well throughout my entire stay at Liverpool and I have nothing to criticise,” he told Marca.

Brendan Rodgers has suggested the Reds struggled to do a deal for Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez because of the lure of London. The wide man joined the Gunners from Barcelona despite strong links over a possible move to Anfield.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler is back at the club having been named an ambassador. Fowler will conduct a number of ambassadorial duties for the club including working with the side’s academy system.

“I'm looking forward to representing this great club and will do all I can to support success both on and off the pitch,” he’s quoted by the Daily Star.
