Tottenham latest, competition for Lukaku, Davies deal edges closer

A selection of the latest news and reports surrounding Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Tottenham are facing competition to land striker Romelu Lukaku according to the London Evening Standard, with the Chelsea forward apparently wanted by new Juventus boss Massimo Allegri.

Lukaku has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane for much of the summer, having also been linked with a move to Everton and La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.

Wolfsburg have also expressed an interest in the striker who has hit double figures in each of his last two seasons in the Premier League. Chelsea are prepared to sell for over £20 million.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Tottenham are edging closer to landing Swansea City left-back Ben Davies.

Davies is reportedly the man that Mauricio Pochettino wants as first choice left-back at White Hart Lane for the coming season with the Mirror suggesting they could agree a fee for the 21-year-old.

The fee is said to be at least £8 million, which is the odd thing given that Liverpool, their main rivals for Davies's signature, had a bid of the same amount rejected earlier on this week. There were rumours to suggest that Tottenham had agreed a fee of £10 million fee with the Swans as recently as yesterday.

One man who Spurs may bid for next summer according to the Daily Mail, is PSV Eindhoven forward Zakaria Bakkali.

However, with Valencia reportedly interested in signing the forward, Spurs may be forced into action this summer. Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the 18-year-old.
