Transfer Clock: Liverpool want Vidal, Pogba, Manchester United and Arsenal stars fuel speculation

Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle feature.

Transfer Clock: 46 days until the transfer window closes, here is the latest news you need to know...

Liverpool want Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba

Liverpool have been linked with a sensational move for Chile international Arturo Vidal. The Mirror report that he is high on the club's list, as they seek a 'top class' midfielder. Also high on their list is his fellow Juventus teammate Paul Pogba.

Both moves are highly ambitious, with Pogba recently linked to Chelsea. Juventus have this week been left reeling from the departure of title winning boss Antonio Conte, in a rumoured row over transfer policy.

The club's general manager Beppe Marotta said at a press conference on Wednesday however that his key stars were not put up for sale.

Liverpool's rivals Manchester United have been strongly linked with a transfer for Vidal, who is currently on holiday in Chile after the World Cup. Marotta said this week there have however been no bids received.

Liverpool have the money to pull off a deal after the Luis Suarez sale, and Champions League football on offer, unlike United.

Thomas Vermaelen's unsubtle holiday partner

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has been strongly linked with a transfer to Manchester United, and he has now only added to the speculation.

The Belgian centre-back was spotted holidaying with United striker Robin van Persie in Barbados, report The Mail.

The pair are pals from Van Persie's days at Arsenal, but with United needing an experienced centre-back, a cut-price switch for Vermaelen makes sense, and the Dutchman will surely not be shy about trying to convince him to join.

Arsenal, Newcastle, sign new right-backs, West Ham to get involved?

Arsenal have clinched the signing of Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy, in a deal which works out at around £12 million.

The French international replaces Bacary Sagna, who signed with Manchester City on a free, and he has been given the number two shirt, worn earlier by Abou Diaby, who switches to 24.

Newcastle have announced the signing of Daryl Janmaat from Feyenoord, Holland's top choice right-back at the World Cup.

In a further potential twist, The Mirror report Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson is wanted by West Ham United, with the Hammers keen on a loan or permanent deal.

Jenkinson could in turn replace Guy Demel, who is wanted by Leicester City.
