Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Spurs set for 'war' over Davies, Vertonghen going nowhere

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Star claims it’s a straight battle between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool over Ben Davies.

Spurs reportedly agreed a £10 million fee with Swansea for the left-back yesterday, but Liverpool could counter with a larger offer.

Both teams are still in the hunt for a left-back ahead of the new Premier League season.

Tottenham have ruled out the sale of Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen according to the Mirror.

Vertonghen was being linked with a high profile move to Barcelona, as Luis Enrique seeks defensive reinforcements.

Daniel Levy reportedly wants the player to sign a new long term contract at the club.

Tottenham continue to be linked with a swoop for former Inter Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o.

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season and the ex-Blues man has been identified as a possible addition.

However, whether Spurs can satisfy him with a decent pay package remains to be seen.
