German star Matthias Ginter is on the verge of completing a move to Borussia Dortmund.
The former Arsenal defensive target has been pictured in Dortmund with his advisor after completing a medical ahead of a move to BVB, which sees the German giants snap up one of the best defensive talents in Germany.
Ginter was heavily linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United before the World Cup and while he wasn’t a key component of Jorgi Low’s winning side, BVB have been convinced to secure a deal for him.
It leaves Jurgen Klopp with the potential defensive pairing of Mats Hummels, another Manchester United target, and Ginter in the centre of his defence for next season, which doesn’t seem like a bad partnership.
Rather than signing Ginter as a replacement for Hummels, Klopp is likely to pair the two together regularly to retain a strong defensive elements to his team with holding midfielder Seb Kehl set to retire at the end of the coming season.
It’s a great deal for Dortmund if everything goes through.
