Colombia World Cup star James Rodriguez is reportedly set to move to join Real Madrid after the European champions ‘agreed’ a deal with Monaco.
The Colombia No.10 stole the show at the World Cup in Brazil where he scored six goals and provided two assists in just six appearances. The 23-year-old moved just last year from Porto to Monaco in a €45 million deal, but is now reportedly the subject of a €75million offer from Real Madrid which reports in Spain suggest is near complete.
The European champions are also expected to unveil Germany star and World Cup winner Toni Kroos, who has reportedly agreed a deal with the La Liga giants, confirming following the tournament in Brazil that he will move to the Spanish capital this summer.
Real Madrid also possess some of the world’s most dangerous attacking talent in Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, word-record signing Gareth Bale, Isco, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria and Luka Modric. But a move for Rodriguez could signal the exit for the latter pair as well as midfielder Sami Khedira.
James scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 38 appearances for Monaco in his debut season, after his previous tally of 12 goals and eight assists for Porto in 2012/13. But a move to the Bernabeu would undoubtedly be a step up for the youngster, who has the potential to be the best in the world in the future.
There had been rumours earlier this week that Manchester United could be preparing a shock hijack of the deal to sign James, but it looks increasingly likely that the Colombia star will be making his way to the Spanish capital.
