Everton's Barcelona loan target scores on debut for new club

FC Porto Trophy Celebration

Previously linked with a loan move to Everton, Cristian Tello scored on his debut for new club FC Porto on Wednesday.

Reportedly a one-time target for Everton, Cristian Tello scored on his debut for FC Porto in a friendly win against Dutch side VVV Venlo on Wednesday.

The young Spaniard has only just tied up a two-year loan deal with the Portuguese side, but he wasted no time getting off the mark, netting the fifth in a 6-2 victory.

Tello is clearly highly-rated by Barcelona, thus the fact that rather than selling him outright they have agreed to an extended loan move.  And if he continues as he started he could ultimately grow into the Barca star many believe he is capable of becoming.

Having benefited hugely from the brief stay of fellow Barcelona youngster Gerard Deulofeu, it has been suggested that Everton could move for his teammate after the former vowed to fight for a first-team place at the Nou Camp.

But despite also being linked with Liverpool in recent times, Tello opted for a move to the Primeira Liga, meaning Everton's search for new additions - temporary or otherwise - goes on.
