Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu says he is delighted to see Cesc Fabregas join him at the club.
Fabregas sealed his switch from Romeu's former club Barcelona last month, stunning the Premier League, with most observers expecting him to re-sign with Arsenal.
The Gunners unexpectedly passed on Fabregas, but their loss is clearly Chelsea's gain if Romeu's comments are anything to go by, with his addition giving the club a lift.
He told Chelsea's website: "‘He’s a top player, a world-class player and I’m sure he will help the team challenge.
"‘I’m happy to see the club signing such good players and it’s good to have them here."
It would be easy to see Romeu act disappointed, given the arrival of Fabregas only makes his task to break back into the first team harder.
Yet the two players are in different stratospheres at the moment. Romeu is struggling to bounce back to form after a serious knee injury two seasons ago, while Fabregas is an established star.
It is a big season for the both of them, but he is mature enough to realise the success of Chelsea comes first, and Cesc's arrival is surely crucial to winning trophies.
