Manchester United transfer news: Midfielder wanted on loan; €10m-a-year Vidal report

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Those Arturo Vidal to Manchester United rumours went into overdrive yesterday evening, following the news that Antonio Conte had left his post as manager of the Italian side.

The Sun is one of a number of media outlets claiming Conte’s decision came as a result of Vidal’s possible move to Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal reportedly hopeful of completing a deal by the end of the week.

In other Vidal-related news, journalist Alfredo Pedulla claims the Chile international wants €10million-a-season to make the switch, while United are reportedly prepared to offer him €7million-a-year plus add-ons.

Following their big-money kit deal and the need to transform their central midfield, Vidal would be well worth the additional outlay.

And finally, the Argus reports that Brighton & Hove Albion want to take United’s attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard on loan again next season.

Lingard enjoyed a fruitful spell at the Championship club last season. And despite many United fans feeling he is ready for a chance in the first-team, it is being suggested Lingard may not go on United’s pre-season tour of the USA, putting his short-term future in doubt.
