Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Nile Ranger reports

Leeds United have been linked with signing Nile Ranger, and fans are not impressed.

Leeds United look set to be the Championship's biggest unknown quantity next season - and a further wildcard could be added to the mix.

SkySports reported 24 hours ago that free agent forward Nile Ranger is to be offered the chance to train with the club.

Ranger recently was released by Newcastle United, with a series of off the field troubles and court cases hampering his football development.

The 23-year-old is a former England under-19 international, and did enjoy a briefly successful spell in League One with Swindon last season, scoring seven times in 19 games.

Ranger also has brief Europa League football to his name, with Newcastle United two seasons ago.

With Leeds searching for a new identity at present, after the takeover of Massimo Cellino and appointment of inexperienced manager Dave Hockaday, it is fair to say Ranger is not proving to be a popular potential addition.

Whether it will work, will be down to one person, and that is Nile Ranger. Whether he is prepared to put his past disciplinary issues behind him and live like a saint off the field, is a matter only he can face.

He should realise that while only 23, this season, whether it be at Leeds or elsewhere, could be one of the final chances he has to get back on track and rescue his career.

As the following comments from supporters from Leeds show however, his reputation precedes him, and he has an uphill task to salvage this and turn his fortunes around.
