EA brings an end to support for The Sims 2

Free Ultimate Collection upgrade for owners of a digital copy by way of compensation.

EA has announced that development is to cease for The Sims 2. No further content or bug fixes will be implemented for the popular life sim although technical support will be made available to those who need it.

“Going forward, EA will no longer be providing any new content or making any additional technical updates to The Sims 2,” EA Stated. “If you have a problem with your game, you are of course still welcome to contact us here at EA Help”

EA added that any SIMS 2 gamers that own a digital copy will be offered a parting gesture, “Everyone who had a digital copy of The Sims 2 will find the Ultimate Collection in their library within the next 5 days.” Said the publishers,”Just log in to Origin and visit your My Games library.”

Now reaching its tenth year The Sims 2 has had a strong run and for any fans thinking of moving on The Sims 4 is on its way from September 2nd for PC with a Mac version to be announced.
