Chelsea loanee on Mourinho, choices, and dream to play with Eden Hazard

Chelsea's Thorgan Hazard dreams of playing alongside Eden Hazard for Chelsea, but know it may be a while.

Thorgan Hazard is off for a third season on loan, and admits there may be more to come.

The Belgian youngster will play at Borussia Moenchengladbach in Germany, after spending two years in his homeland with Zulte-Waregem.

While those were successful seasons, Hazard knows it is time for him to take the next step, even if Jose Mourinho was unable to offer him a place in next season's squad at Chelsea.

Speaking about his latest loan switch, Hazard told Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblade:

"I wanted to go abroad. Spain or Germany, but I had the best feeling about Gladbach immediately.

"They play football offensively, technically immaculate with a lot of movement. Moreover, they play rounds of the Europa League. It is important that I pick up this faster pace and (become) stronger.

"Given how Germany became world champion? That was a machine. To compete in the Bundesliga so I have to be a machine, then I can maybe go to England."

Hazard admitted to being slightly underwhelmed with his own performance for Zulte last season in the one game Jose Mourinho came to watch him personally.

"I was proud that the coach came to Waregem special for me. Unfortunately, that game against Anderlecht was not so good and we lost. No, I was not nervous, we just had a off day."

He says he still aims to play alongside his brother Eden Hazard, and is keen to wait for his chance, even if it means playing on loan again next year too.

"Yes, it is our dream to play football together at Chelsea but will that ever work? Chelsea to Mönchengladbach did not sell, still means that they continue to believe in me. But if I am even lent out, a year later, I will get there."

That of course is dependent on Eden Hazard remaining at Chelsea, in the face of strong interest from PSG which will no doubt resurface in future summers.

Yet that is where the signing and long-game Chelsea are playing with Thorgan Hazard could pay off, for the chance to finally play alongside his brother in a year or two, may only make him more likely to stay.
