VIDEO: I don't want to leave Manchester City says Alvaro Negredo

Manchester City forward has confirmed that he has no intention of leaving the Premier League champions this summer.

The Spaniard has seemingly put all speculation to bed regarding his future. In a #askalvaro video on the City website and YouTube channel Negredo responds to a number of questions from supporters, two of which were about his happiness and his future.

Negredo's very first question in the four and half minute video read, "Do you really want to leave City? You had an amazing first season you can only become better here."

City's number nine responded by saying: "I don't want to leave City. I'm very happy and very settled here.

"I had a difficult end to the season and that's why there has been a lot of talking but I've been very happy here from the first day I arrived."

In the second question the £16 million signing from Sevilla was asked if he was homesick, he responded:

"No. Maybe a bit more on a personal side than when we talk about football, but I don't cry easily. I am sensible, but I have to love that person a lot to feel homesick."

So contrary to reports we've heard in recent weeks the City striker is not trying to force a move away from the club after just one season. As expected when a player moves country, he is bound to miss those he has left behind, that is only human.

The likes of Atlético Madrid and even Tottenham Hotspur were rumoured to be interested in taking Negredo if City and the player were prepared to strike a deal.

It seems the only way the forward would leave now is if City forced him out. With national reports this morning claiming they must cut their number of foreign players to 16 in order to fulfill the Premier League quota, this might still be a small possibility.
