Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Vertonghen agent confirms interest, Levy wants to sell before buying

A round up of transfer stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Jan Vertonghen’s agent says several clubs have been in touch over potential moves for the Belgian.

The centre-back has been linked with a summer exit from White Hart Lane, with Barcelona among the clubs thought to be interested.

“Several teams are interested in Jan. I cannot confirm or deny that Barcelona are one of them,” Mustapha Nakhli told reporters.

The Mirror reports that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will have to offload two players before he can make any new signings.

Centre-back Michael Dawson and midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson have been tipped to leave, but the paper claims they’re both reluctant to do so.

Chairman Daniel Levy reportedly wants the duo to be sold to create extra cash for Pochettino to spend.

Crystal Palace and Swansea City are thought to be locked in a battle to sign Tottenham midfielder Sigurdsson.

Sigurdsson struggled to make a big impact on the side last season, which has led to claims the club are open to selling him this summer.

Palace are reportedly considering an £8 million offer but Spurs could use him in part exchange to land Wilfried Bony and Ben Davies from the Swans.
