Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos, linked to Manchester United and Chelsea, has confirmed he will move to Real Madrid following his World Cup win with Germany.
The 24-year-old World Cup-winner revealed he will move directly to the Spanish capital following his triumph with the German national team at the Maracana on Sunday night.
The attacking midfielder had previously been linked with possible moves to the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea in hot pursuit of the Bayern Munich star.
However, Toni Kroos has confirmed in a post-match interview with UOL at the Maracana that he is signing for Real Madrid, which he described as a ‘dream come true’.
“We’ve finished the World Cup in the best way possible. Now I’m going to Madrid, so that’s two dreams achieved," Kroos said, reported by SkySports.
The German had previously flirted with a move to England, telling reporters in March:
"It is no secret that the Premier League is a possibility for me but no one has come to any agreement with me and it will stay like this until the summer and, some time, a decision will be made. It is also no secret that the Premier League is not a bad league.”
However, it appears the midfielder prefers a move to La Liga where he will join some of the most exceptional talents in the world in Cristiano Ronaldo, and Gareth Bale whilst uncertainty remains over the futures of Angel Di Maria, and Kroos’ national team colleague Sami Khedira, both of whom are linked with potential moves to England this summer.
