Morgan made three first team appearances before moving on to Yeovil Town. Now he's caught the attention of another Football League club.
Morgan was touted as a promising young striker during his days on Merseyside after coming through the Reds academy, with some even comparing his finishing ability to that of legendary striker Robbie Fowler - who was nicknamed 'God' by many fans - and Fowler spoke highly of him himself.
Brendan Rodgers gave Morgan his first team bow, after some impressive performances for the reserve side, in a Europa League clash against Hearts from the bench at Tynecastle, and ended up starting the second leg. He was given another opportunity when the Reds travelled to Russia to face Anzhi that season in the same competition but was never really given an opportunity on the domestic front.
He did score some eye-catching goals for the under-21 side, and his record was relatively impressive - finding the net on 16 occasions from 38 appearances.
He had a loan spell at Rotherham United following his Europa League appearances before returning to Merseyside, and last season he ended up leaving the club for Yeovil Town - initially on a loan deal.
He made 13 appearances for Yeovil last season but didn't find the net as the 20-year-old made most of his appearances from the bench.
Morgan undoubtedly has talent and good technical ability but he did seem to have a problem when on the ball, he ended up being easily outmuscled.
One would hope that Morgan settles at a club and can make an impact so someone can benefit from his ability.
