Chelsea transfer news: Blues save £4m on Luis deal? Claims Benatia would prefer Chelsea move

A round up of transfer stories about Chelsea this morning.

Reports suggest that Chelsea’s deal for Atletico Madrid defender Filipe Luis is in place.

The Blues have been tracking the left-back for most of the summer, haggling hard over the player’s price.

Some sources claim Chelsea’s hard work in negotiations has saved them £4 million, with claims a £16 million deal has been agreed.

The Metro has claimed that AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia would prefer a move to Chelsea.

The centre-back has been linked with Chelsea at different points this summer, but Jose Mourinho doesn’t appear to need to strengthen the middle of his defence.

However, he seems set to sign for Manchester City, with the Premier League champions tipped to close a £32 million deal.

Scottish giants Celtic are reportedly seeking a loan deal for Chelsea wide man Christian Atsu.

Atsu signed for the club from FC Porto before he was loaned out to Dutch team Vitesse Arnhem last season.

Atsu is unlikely to receive regular first team football at Chelsea next season so the move makes sense.
