Liverpool transfer news: Markovic’s farewell message to Benfica; Suarez to reportedly lose £3m if he bites another player

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Reported Liverpool target Lazar Markovic has said his goodbyes to Benfica fans on his official Facebook, reports Record.

The Portuguese newspaper published a message said to be from the Serbian winger in which he is quoted as saying, “Forever in my memory. Thanks for all the fans.

“Wish me success in this new step. I believe in Benfica.”

The 20-year-old enjoyed a fine season for the eventual Primeira Liga champions, and while reports claim his proposed move to Anfield has been held up, there is no suggestion the transfer will not eventually go through.

In other transfer-related news, the Sunday People reports that Luis Suarez will lose £3million from his salary if he bites another opponent.

The Uruguayan international completed his £75million move from Liverpool to Barcelona last week. And it is now being reported that his £10million salary will take a sizeable hit if he commits the same offence again.
