Liverpool winger Suso has been speaking about his hopes for the future.
The 20-year-old was tipped by some media outlets to be a makeweight in potential Liverpool summer business. But with those rumours well and truly put to bed, the Spaniard is clearly hoping to make an impact at Anfield next season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Suso said, “If I fight for my place, I do my best every day in training and when I have the chance to come on or start a game, if I do well, I could have chances to play a lot minutes in the first-team.”
Suso spent last season on loan at La Liga club Almeria, where he made 35 appearances, scoring three goals and setting up a further nine.
And of his time away from Anfield, Suso said, “After the season in Spain, I think I have become a better player. I learned a lot."
Liverpool fans have already seen tantalising glimpses of what Suso can do when he was given a first-team chance two years ago. But now he will be hoping to build on those cameo performances.
After all, following the departure of Luis Suarez, Brendan Rodgers will need that creative and unpredictable spark to come from others, and Suso could be one of them.
