A report in Spain has suggested Arturo Vidal is closing on a move to Manchester United.
Manchester United may be closer to signing Arturo Vidal than previously claimed, if a fresh report in Spanish newspaper Marca is accurate.
United fans will naturally have trepidation regarding the source, which also claimed last summer that Falcao was bound for the Red Devils.
Yet nevertheless, here are the key lines from the story published by the Spanish newspaper on Sunday evening, in the report entitled 'Vidal's bags ready for Manchester'.
"Manchester United is about to close the signing of Arturo Vidal. The team of Louis van Gaal would pay 40 million to Juventus and the French side transfer Patrice Evra set to Juventus."
The paper reports that Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich, who also represents Alexis Sanchez, has been negotiating with United while in the UK.
If United can secure the Juventus midfielder, it would be a major coup, and help revitalise the club's midfield. Vidal scored 19 goals in all competitions last season for the Serie A champions.
Earlier today Vidal was quoted by Chilean website LaTercera.com: "
"I have heard the rumours, but I will not speak about it anymore. I’m enjoying the holidays and when I return to Italy I’ll see what happens."
“I am very calm. We would all like to play for one of the best teams in the world
