The free video porn site tweeted its followers to request their thoughts on sponsoring an eSports team in the world of competitive MOBAs and Hearthstone.
So, you’re a member of an eSports team, particularly a Dota 2, League of Legends, or Hearthstone one, and you happen to follow YouPorn on Twitter – your Twitter stream then updates with the following tweet:
Do we have any competitive LoL, DOTA2, or HeartStone players following us? What do you think about YouPorn sponsoring a team?— YouPorn (Jude) (@YouPorn) July 10, 2014
With eSports practically skyrocketing over the years, particularly with League of Legends and Dota 2 tournaments offering ever-increasing sums of prize money, it’s not surprising that companies want to get in on a slice of the action. The tweet above was met with mixed replies from its followers with some asking why they weren’t asking for Starcraft 2 or Street Fighter players, and others asking to be contacted with seemingly genuine interest.
Do we think that this is something that we could see? Well, crazier things have happened, although as these games are played by younger kids too, there may be some restrictions. Thanks, Polygon and NeoGAF.
