Manchester United transfer news: Vidal talks reportedly occurred Friday; striker on possible exit

Manchester United remain keen on Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal according to reports.

The Daily Mail claims the Chilean’s agent held talks with United representatives on Friday, as he was in the country to deal with the move of another of his clients, Alexis Sanchez, to Arsenal.

Vidal is exactly the type of midfielder United need, and new manager Louis van Gaal has previously spoken of his admiration for the 27-year-old.

The report continues that United are now hopefully of a breakthrough in discussions for a transfer tipped to cost in the region of £35million.

In other news, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports that United forward Bebe has eyes on a possible move to Benfica.

Speaking to Antena 1, the former Pacos de Ferreira loanee said of Benfica’s alleged interest, “Of course it would be a great opportunity for me.”

Benfica surprised many by beating FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon to the Primeira Liga title last season. But with some of their front-men tipped for the exit, Bebe could be the ideal replacement having impressed on loan in the division last season.
