All the latest summer transfer news from League One...
Doncaster Rovers want to return to the Championship at the first time of asking, but have been decimated already. Wingers David Cotterill and Mark Duffy, striker Chris Brown and loan forward Billy Sharp have all left the club this summer, leaving manager Paul Dickov in desperate need of some firepower. Dickov has admitted that Tottenham youngster Jonathan Obika is on his transfer wishlist, with a deal for the 20-year-old in the pipeline.
"Jonathan’s a player I’ve admired for a long time," he said. "I’ve watched him since he was 16-year-old at Tottenham and he’s a player I know a lot about. However, the former Oldham manager remained coy about any deal for the 20-year-old being completed: There have been preliminary discussions, but that’s about as far as it’s gone at the moment.”
Yeovil Town are in the same boat as Doncaster, as the Glovers look to rebound from their relegation last season. Gary Johnson has already snapped up goalkeepers Chris Weale and Artur Krysiak, defender Brendan Moloney, midfielder James Berrett and striker AJ Leitch-Smith, and now Cardiff City defender Ben Nugent has agreed to join the Somerset outfit on a loan deal until January.
Elsewhere, MK Dons have strengthened their squad with the signings of Kyle McFadzean, Danny Green and Tom Hitchcock, but they are all but resigned to losing midfielder Brendan Galloway. The England youth international is set for a move to Everton, but the Dons are expected to pocket £3m for the 18-year-old.
"We are devastated that Brendan wishes to leave, as we feel our first team is the best place for him at the moment," chairman Pete Winkelman said. "There has been interest from several Premier League sides in Brendan and we fully appreciate the lure of the top-flight is enormous.
"We accept that Brendan may have played his last game for the club, but we will remain in discussions with interested parties to ensure MK Dons receives the best possible deal for one of the country's brightest young talents."
