Crystal Palace are close to signing Cardiff City striker Fraizer Campbell after meeting the £600,000 release clause in his contract.
Campbell scored six goals for Cardiff last season as the club were relegated to the Championship after just one year in the top flight.
The 26-year-old will be Palace boss Tony Pulis's first outfield acquisition this summer, having only signed goalkeeper Chris Kettings from Blackpool to date.
Leicester City had also been in for Campbell's signature as they look to beef up their frontline for the new season. The Foxes were frightened off, however, by the striker's £40,000-a-week wage demands.
The Eagles are also close to clinching a deal for Cardiff defender Steven Caulker, and The Mirror reports that the club have launched an £8m bid for the England international.
Palace have been linked to Tottenham's Gylfi Sigurdsson, who would be allowed to leave the North London outfit for a fee in the region of £8.
