The latest news and gossip from Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

Rio Ferdinand appears to be nearing a move to Loftus Road after he put his Cheshire home up for sale, according to The Sun.

The seven-bedroom mansion reportedly has the price-tag of £4.5 million.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail have led with a picture of a smiling Adel Taarabt in QPR training, suggesting that he could be set to stay in west London as a move elsewhere has failed to materialise.

It was previously reported that the Moroccan's £65,000-a-week wages have scuppered his chances of leaving Loftus Road this summer.

Some potentially bad news for QPR has come in the last 24 hours, however, in that Sunderland are looking to prise Charlie Austin away from the Rs.

Again, the Daily Mail report that the Black Cats are after the 25-year-old, who scored 20 times last season.

According to GetWestLondon, Fulham are preparing a move for Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire.

Maguire is also a target for Wolves and Hull City, although United do not want to sell. The Cottagers are said to be willing to pay £3 million for the defender's signature.

Kieran Richardson could be on his way out of Craven Cottage, though, with Roy Keane reportedly set to persuade him to join Aston Villa.

The new Villa assistant boss previously worked with Richardson at Sunderland, while also playing alongside him at Manchester United.

In other Fulham news, the club lost the second pre-season friendly of their tour of Scotland 4-2 against Rangers.

Goals from Lewis MacLeod, Kenny Miller, Nicky Law and Nicky Clark put Felix Magath's men to the sword, with Motherwell up next for the west London side.
