After weeks of speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Luis Suarez will leave Liverpool for Barcelona.
The 27-year-old striker’s future at Anfield had been cast into doubt since his unsavoury behaviour at the ongoing 2014 World Cup finals.
Reports have been circulating that the two clubs had met in London earlier this month, and now it has been announced that the Uruguayan will not play for the Reds anymore.
Suarez will travel to Barcelona next week and will sign a five-year contract after passing a medical. The transfer fee that the Spanish giants had to pay Liverpool for the former Ajax star has not been declared, although respected Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has said that it was a huge sum.
The figures of Suárez cost: clause was €100 milion. FCB paid €81. The sale of Alexis (€34.6+3 depending targets) helped reduce the cost— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) July 11, 2014
Barcelona have not wasted much time in posing Suarez in their colours, as shown below:

Suarez is a world-class striker, and watching him play alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar in a Barcelona front-three will certainly be mouth-watering for all football fans.
However, the striker will not be able to take part in any football-related activity until the end of October, and it has now been reported by Balague, who works for Sky Sports and AS, that Barcelona will not be able to present him at Camp Nou.
Suárez will be presented on Wednesday. Cant be done at Camp Nou due to punishment so the club will do it in the nearby Auditori 1899— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) July 11, 2014
It will be interesting to see how Liverpool cope with the departure of Suarez. The former Nacional and Groningen star was the Reds’ best player last season, and without him, Brendan Rodgers’ side face a tough task of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
