Belgian winger Nacer Chadli the fastest Tottenham player at the World Cup.

Statistics compiled by FIFA, clocking a player's top sprint speed during the World Cup, record the former Nacer Chadli as quicker than any of his Tottenham teammates.

Chadli recorded 31.6 kilometres per hour, way short of Costa Rica's Junior Diaz' top speed of 33.8, but enough to be Spurs' quickest.

This is speedier than the top Liverpool player, Adam Lallana, 31.6 k/ph. Here is a look at Tottenham's top five:

1) Nacer Chadli - 31.6 k/ph

2) Jan Vertonghen 31.2 k/ph

3) Nabil Bentaleb 31 k/ph

4) Benoit Assou Ekotto 30.2 k/ph

5) Moussa Dembele 29.4 k/ph

Also of interest to Tottenham fans should be linked right-back Serge Aurier, whose top speed of 33.5 k.ph is the second fastest in the entire tournament, while striker Divock Origi's 30.7 k/ph would also put him in Tottenham's top five.

Of the Spurs players left at home or injured, Andros Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Kyle Walker and Erik Lamela would all be good bets to figure high in FIFA's records had they been in Brazil.

Townsend even said at the end of last month he would happily take on Arjen Robben in a race, whose top speed only registered at 31.6 k/ph, equal to Chadli.
