A new video for Monolith’s venture into Tolkein’s Lord of The Rings universe hears from Troy Baker and Christian Cantamessa about the game’s story.
San Diego Comic Con is taking place between the 24th and 27th July, and Warner Bros. and Monolith will be there to host a feature panel about their new game, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor on 25th July.
The panel will discuss how the game is approaching storytelling using the ‘Nemesis System’, which is a really cool-sounding feature that ensures each standout enemy you face will remember you in battle. So, depending on your actions when you first encounter them, and considering whether they live or die, they will remember and adapt the next time you meet. Another topic of discussion will be how the Rings of Power are tied to the Wraith in the game, what Gollum’s role is, and they’ll also reveal a new trailer too.
The behind the scenes video below hears from the actor behind the main character, Talion, played by Troy Baker, and the cinematic director, Christian Cantamessa. Cantamessa says that Shadows of Mordor bridges a gap between The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings stories and that they also wanted to build something new on top of the universe Tolkein created. The relationship between Baker and Cantamessa is also spoken of, as they collaborated constantly to help give the motion-captured scenes in the game a cinematic feel.
