It was confirmed today that Suarez will leave Liverpool in a deal said to be around £75 million for Barcelona and the Liverpool captain wished his team-mate since 2011 the best at his new club.
He said on Instagram: "On an emotional day for me would just like to say what a pleasure it has been playing with an amazing talent such as Luis. I would like to thank him for his outstanding contribution on the pitch during his time @liverpoolfc and to wish him and his family all the best on his new adventure in Spain. #lfclegend."
Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 appearances since he joined the club in January 2011 and was instrumental last season as Liverpool came close to winning their first league title in 24 years, with the Uruguayan scoring 31 Premier League goals.
Gerrard has said that Suarez is the best footballer to have ever played for the club, so Liverpool will have a big job finding someone who can contribute just as much as the 27-year-old did.
It is likely to be a big summer for the Reds as they try to fill the void in a new look side to compete in both the Premier League title race, and the Champions League.
