Sony consider the Uncharted games a ‘good candidate’ to be brought over to their latest greatest console
With The Last of Us poised to take a second PlayStation console by storm there’s accumulating interest to see if Uncharted, Naughty Dog’s other hit game franchise on the PS3, will also be making the 1080p/60fps jump to next gen.
With a brand new Uncharted 4 game in the works for PS4 the console won’t be starved of Nathan Drake’s quips and climbing skills but the, ‘while you wait’ gesture of a bumper Uncharted remaster pack along the Lines of Halo: The Master Chief Collection would certainly go down well.
Speaking to Eurogamer Sony Worldwide Studios Boss Shuhei Yoshida in response to the question as to whether more PS3 titles would get PS4 remakes said, "There are requests from some consumers for games that were released later in the generation, like Uncharted, which people might have missed.” adding, “That would be a good candidate. We don't want to flood the market with remade games either."
Yoshida goes on to make the point that many almost half of PS4 owners didn’t previously own a PS3, "That's lots of people that missed exclusive PS3 titles like The Last of Us, so it's a great way to welcome those people back to PlayStation, saying this is what you missed."
The Last of Us Remastered hits the PS4 from July 29th with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End due sometime in 2015.
What are you thoughts, do you think we will see the PS3 uncharted games get PS4 remakes?
