Arsenal secure Alexis Sanchez transfer
Arsenal have succeeded in beating Juventus and Arsenal to the signing of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean's transfer to the Gunners was announced on Arsenal's official website, citing an undisclosed fee.
Sanchez will not join up with his new teammates right away, instead heading on holiday as part of an extended post-World Cup break, and will return to the Gunners in July, after completing a medical earlier on Thursday.
Spanish newspaper AS report that Arsenal also have an option to sign Atletico Madrid back-up right-back Javier Manquillo on loan for the season, with the 20-year-old preferring the Gunners over a potential Marseille switch.
Remy deal under threat?
Arsenal have faced a setback however in their pursuit of QPR striker Loic Remy. The Mail report that the Frenchman has been unable to agree personal terms with Arsenal, and Newcastle are ready to pounce.
Remy spent a successful season on loan at Newcastle last season, scoring 14 goals.
Riviere linked to Arsenal and Newcastle
The Mail also claim Emmanuel Riviere of Monaco is interesting both Arsenal and Newcastle, with each side 'expressing an interest' in the forward.
The 24-year-old Frenchman scored 10 goals in 19 starts for Monaco last season, and is believed to be available, recently linked to West Brom.
Patrice Evra to Juventus to be completed on Friday?
The website of Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio claims Patrice Evra will complete his switch to Juventus on Friday. Evra is claimed to have made his mind up that he wants to move to Turin, with the Italian champions ready to pay £2 million to United, who have already signed Luke Shaw as a replacement.
Aspas out, Moreno in?
Liverpool are still interested in signing left-back Alberto Moreno report the Liverpool Echo, and are prepared to lose Iago Aspas to do so. The paper report that the Reds are hoping to sell Aspas in part-exchange to sign Moreno, after their £16 million bid was rejected earlier this summer. Sevilla are said to want £20 million. Aspas has failed to settle in his first season and Liverpool's continued links with other forwards despite Suarez's potential exit speaks volumes about his potential involvement next season.
Liverpool had recently been linked to Swansea's Ben Davies, and Sporting Lisbon defender Marcos Rojo as alternatives.
