Serie A transfer latest: Newcastle eye Juve man as replacement for Arsenal-bound Debuchy

All the latest summer transfer news from Serie A...

Newcastle are set to lose their starting right back Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal in the coming days, as the Frenchman moves closer to an £8m deal. That leaves Alan Pardew's Magpies with a huge hole to fill, but they could be looking to Serie A for a replacement for the former Lille man.

Juventus right back Mauricio Isla has found his path to the first team blocked by the excellent Stephan Lichtsteiner, but the Chilean impressed at the World Cup and is still highly rated from his days with Udinese. With Isla unable to get into the Juve first time on a regular basis, it's believed that boss Antonio Conte is willing to let the 26-year-old leave for Tyneside this summer.

Roma have been busy in the transfer market already this summer, snapping up midfielders Seydou Keita and Salih Ucan, as well as former Chelsea and Arsenal left back Ashley Cole earlier this week. Now Rudi Garcia is set to add competition for the ex-England international by signing AC Milan defender Urby Emanuelson. The Dutchman spent time on loan at Fulham in 2013, and will move to the Italian capital as depth behind Cole at left back.

"I expect a great deal from this season," said the former Ajax man, who can also play in midfield. "I spoke to Kevin Strootman and I am very happy to be at Roma."

Elsewhere, one of the ongoing saga's surrounds a Liverpool player - and not Luis Suarez. Midfielder Lucas Leiva has been tipped to leave Anfield after the Reds snapped up Bayer Leverkusen's Emre Can, and Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has been linked with engineering a reunion for the duo, who worked together on Merseyside for a number of years. Despite the reported interest, there have been no bids for the 27-year-old - but it doesn't seem like it will be long until Napoli do lodge a formal offer.
