Prior to Thursday July 10, it had been a quiet summer at Arsenal.
And then perfectly, a well orchestrated plan came together.
The finishing touches were put on a deal to sign Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, for a fee officially undisclosed but believed to be in the region of £28 million with add ons which could take it to £33 million.
Sanchez was confirmed as an Arsenal player in the early evening, ahead of the launch for Arsenal's new kit launch at 11pm.
It was Arsenal's first kit made by manufacturers Puma, who have secured a deal in place of Nike, worth £30 million a season, which pretty much covers the fee for the Chilean international.
After completing his medical, Sanchez clearly had time for a photo shoot to wear the new colours, in photos which were released after the kit's official launch.
Sanchez will next season wear the number 17 shirt, displacing Nacho Monreal who moves to 18.
Arsene Wenger confirmed Sanchez will now take a short holiday, needing a break after his World Cup exploits, and will meet up with the rest of the squad in late July.
