Nottingham Forest eye move for former Reading winger - report

The Reds are reportedly interested in signing Jobi McAnuff on a free transfer.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly lining up a move for former Reading skipper Jobi McAnuff.

The Jamaican winger was released by the Royals in May after they decided not to renew his contract, and he could become new Forest boss Stuart Pearce's fourth summer signing.

Pete O'Rourke of Sky Sports has reported the Nottinghamshire club's interest in McAnuff.

Forest have already clinched deals for striker Lars Veldwijk and Matty Fryatt in this transfer window, as well as former Southampton left-back Danny Fox.

At 33, McAnuff would bring vast experience to a Championship club. He has had spells with Crystal Palace, Watford, West Ham United and Cardiff City over the course of his career, and was a key player in the Reading side that won promotion to the Premier League in the 2011-12 season

He was released as part of a May clear-out, which also saw Mikele Leigertwood, Kaspars Gorkss, Wayne Bridge and Stuart Taylor leave the Berkshire club.
