Manchester City latest: Midfielder signs five-year deal; EDS summer tour announced

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Samir Nasri has officially signed a new five-year deal with Manchester City.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the French international has agreed an extension that ties him to the Blues until the summer of 2019.

Nasri enjoyed an excellent recent season at the Etihad Stadium but it was not enough to earn him a place in France’s World Cup squad, much to the shock of many. However, now that his club future is secure he can look forward to maintaining his fine form for his club.

In other news, City’s EDS and under-18 squads will be jetting off to Croatia this summer as they prepare for the new campaign.

As reported by the Blues’ official website, Patrick Vieira’s young players will be travelling to the west coast of the country on July 13, where they will then play fixtures against HNK Gorica and HNK Rijeka.

And finally, Sergio Aguero has been speaking following Argentina’s progress to the World Cup final.

In quotes published by BT Sport, the striker said, “A lot of people didn’t think Argentina would get to the final but we knew what players we had – very good players.

“Making the final means so much.”

However, it will be tough against an outstanding German side who put hosts Brazil to the sword in the other semi-final.
