The youngster has also said that John Terry was one of his favourite players growing up.
The 19-year-old defender signed for the club in January for a fee reported to be around £12.5 million from St Etienne, and was loaned back to the club for the remainder of the campaign, but he has now joined up with the Chelsea squad ahead of their pre-season preparations for the new season.
The Frenchman told the Chelsea website: "I spoke with him just for a short time and he explained what he expects from me. He’s the best manager in the world and I’m so happy to be able to work with him."
Zouma will be aiming to push captain John Terry and Gary Cahill for a place in the starting XI this season following their very solid partnership at the back last season which was part of the meanest defence in the league, having only conceded 27 goals during the last campaign.
Along with French defender Mamadou Sakho - currently at Liverpool - Zouma said Terry was one of his favourite footballers growing up.
"Terry is a great leader and the perfect example to young players starting out in the game.
"I’ve always looked up to him as a player and now I just want to learn as much as possible from him. I spoke to him briefly and he’s a very nice man."
Zouma made a total of 73 appearances for St Etienne, scoring four goals, and has captained France's under-21 side.
