Arsenal have finally signed a player this summer: Alexis Sanchez.
The North London club’s fans will be delighted with the recruitment of the Chile international, who starred for his country at the ongoing 2014 World Cup and led them to the last 16.
Sanchez moved to Barcelona from Udinese in the summer of 2011, and in his three years at Camp Nou, he won La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The former Colo-Colo star’s power, pace and skills make him a great signing for Arsenal, who have not won the Premier League title since 2004.
Last summer Mesut Ozil was the Gunners’ big signing, as he moved to the English club from Real Madrid for a reported £42.5 million.
The Germany international midfielder had a mixed debut season in the English top flight, but there were suggestions that there were no (fit) players with enough pace to pick up his killer passes.
Now Sanchez has arrived and could be the man to bring the best out of the 25-year-old former Werder Bremen and Schalke star.
Ozil himself is excited at the prospect of playing alongside the former Barcelona forward next season and took to Twitter to welcome him to the Emirates Stadium.
A number of other Arsenal players also took to the social networking site to express their delight at the signing of Sanchez, as did some of the club’s former players.
