Arsenal could make a good profit on Alexis Sanchez if they wanted to claims Alan Smith.

Arsenal hero Alan Smith, now a pundit for SkySports has remarkably been discussing the club potentially moving on Alexis Sanchez one day already.

This is before the Chilean has even played a minute for the club, or even been officially unveiled as an Arsenal player.

He told SkySports: "He's only 25-years-old, so when you talk about resale values you will get some money back for a player like that."

Arsenal have been used to, in recent seasons, seeing their star players move on - and even this summer Bacary Sagna decided to leave the club on a free transfer.

The table appears to be turning however, with Arsenal becoming the predator rather than the prey.

Sanchez is their second multi-million raid on one of La Liga's giants in less than 12 months, and confirmation that they intend to stay at Europe's top table for years to come.

The Chilean international is at 25, the perfect age, ready to spend his peak years at Arsenal.

There is a real chance he stays at the Gunners until his 30s, and they do not have to worry about selling him on at all.

Smith admitted he was excited about the Barcelona forward's arrival, stating: ", he's a tough competitor as well. If he gets kicked he gets back up again; he's got a bit of steel about him.

"Given a bit of time I think he should be able to settle and do really well in the Premier League."
