League One transfer latest: Coventry set to sign ex-Arsenal goalkeeper

All the latest summer transfer news from League One...

Peterborough United will be looking to bounce back from their playoff semi-final defeat to Leyton Orient with promotion this campaign, but their plans have been dented after their two right backs - Mark Little and Craig Alcock - both left the club. Little has signed for League One rivals Bristol City, whilst Alcock left upon the expiration of his contract. Still yet to find a club, there have been suggestions that Alcock could yet return to the Posh, but manager Darren Ferguson says he's looking elsewhere now.

"I'm a very patient man and I've given Craig every opportunity without actually setting a time on it. He hasn't come back to me, so I'm definitely looking at other options," said Ferguson. "We've had meetings with him and [director of football] Barry Fry's offered him a contract, better than anywhere else I think. I've spoken to him about the football side of things. You've got to hope after that he gives a positive answer but he's not given anything so we will wait and see."

Elsewhere in League One, Coventry City have already snapped up goalkeeper Ryan Allsop from Bournemouth as part of the deal which saw striker Callum Wilson head to the South Coast, but manager Steven Pressley is on the verge of adding another shot stopper in the form of ex-Arsenal youngster Reice Charles-Cook.

Released by the Gunners in 2013, the 20-year-old goalkeeper went on to play for Bury as a backup to Brian Jensen, but will now head to the Sky Blues having impressed on trial.

Another player hoping to catch the eye of a League One club during a trial is defender Jay McEveley, who is currently training with MK Dons. Dons manager Karl Robinson knows the former Blackburn and Swindon left back as he's a family friend, and could be offered a deal at the club this summer as competition for captain Dean Lewington.
