The left-back is impressed with the transfer activity that has taken place so far and hopes to see more new faces at the club
Enrique, who returns to action in pre-season following a long injury lay-off with a knee problem, told the club's official website that the squad has already been strengthened significantly this summer with the signings of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from Southampton, along with Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Spanish left-back said: "Lambert and Lallana had been doing really well for Southampton. Emre Can, as well, they say is really good.
"Hopefully with a few more additions, we can compete for good things. We have already improved the squad because we have signed players after we finished second last year.
"The club are bringing good names here as well. Hopefully there'll be more names, but we are really happy with the squad. I'm really looking forward to the season.
"This year we'll play in the Champions League, which I've never played in yet in my career. I'm so much looking forward to that. But we have to do really well again in the league; we have so many competitions this year."
Liverpool are set to lose their star player in Luis Suarez to Barcelona for £75 million which is bound to leave bit of a void in the side following his 31 goals in the Premier League last season.
The Reds are expected to make more signings this summer with Lazar Markovic from Benfica expected to be the latest recruit, and if Brendan Rodgers gets his way then Enrique will face competition for the left-back position given the links with Sevilla's Alberto Moreno and Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand.
They may have been busy during the transfer window so far, but the Reds are likely to remain busy certainly between now and the start of the season.
